“What doesn’t exist you have to create yourself. Even a dream can be plucked out of your head and shaped for a purpose.” - Henning Mankell (Chronicler of the Winds)
When my trombone friend and I decided that we wanted to play something with more energy than what orchestra could offer, we couldn't have imaged to eventually create a band of more than 12-strong that still lasts to this day.
Having a strong background in Jazz I was a prime contributor and would run many of our rehearsals. I always aimed to lead professionally with the goal of creating an inclusive fun social team environment. I would go on to lead the band for 3 years.

Operating a two-person powercraft that can reach 43 kph in the surf can quickly go pear-shaped if there is no teamwork between the crew of the Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB). As the captain I was forced to learn the importance of preparation and fast, practiced decision-making. I also had to carry the responsibility for the safety of myself, my crew and the public.
